From May 15 to July 15, 2025, visitors to Shivsrushti in Pune can access the theme park with a significantly reduced ticket price of just Rs 50. The offer has been made possible thanks to a Rs 51 lakh contribution from the Abhay Bhutada Foundation. The aim is to help citizens, especially those from middle and lower-income groups, engage with the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj without financial hurdles.

Abhay Bhutada Foundation Enables Broader Participation

Abhay Bhutada - Founder of the Abhay Bhutada Foundation

Founded by Abhay Bhutada, the Abhay Bhutada Foundation has consistently worked on initiatives that bring education, values, and cultural heritage closer to the masses. This donation reflects the foundation’s commitment to social inclusion and awareness-building through accessible public projects.

Rather than keeping important educational experiences behind expensive ticketing, the foundation has made it possible for families, students, and visitors from rural areas to visit one of India’s most elaborate historical parks without worrying about cost.

Vision that Aligns with Historical Preservation

Shivsrushti was built in memory of the ideals and teachings of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The theme park’s foundation was inspired by the vision of the late historian and writer Babasaheb Purandare. He believed that future generations must be taught the values of leadership, justice, and strategic thinking demonstrated by Shivaji Maharaj.

Jagdish Kadam, the chairman of Shivsrushti, noted that this park is not merely about displaying statues or information. It is about creating a setting where people can emotionally and mentally connect with historical achievements that shaped the nation.

What Makes Shivsrushti Stand Out

Covering 21 acres in Ambegaon Budruk, Pune, Shivsrushti is more than a museum or exhibit hall. It provides an interactive learning experience through detailed sections and replicas that take visitors through the life and battles of Shivaji Maharaj.

One of the most popular attractions is the Time Machine Theatre. This space was introduced in the second phase of development and launched by Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in February 2025. The theatre combines motion effects, holography, and screen mapping to create a multi-sensory journey into Shivaji’s past.

Sections such as Durg Vaibhav bring the visitor close to the fort architecture and defense planning of the Maratha empire. Meanwhile, Ranangan gives a closer look at key battles and how Shivaji Maharaj’s military understanding reshaped India’s defense planning.

Other highlights include Shrimant Yogi and Sinhasanadhishwar. These sections present Shivaji Maharaj’s political decisions, ethical values, and his efforts to ensure a fair and responsible administration.

Cultural Symbols That Complete the Journey

The cultural richness of Shivaji’s era is reflected not just through stories but also through physical spaces within the park. Visitors can see reimagined structures like the Tulja Bhavani temple, one of the key places of worship in Shivaji’s life, along with the Ganga Sagar lake and a range of period-accurate paintings.

These elements complete the immersive experience, allowing visitors to explore not just the political side of Shivaji’s reign but also the spiritual and cultural connections that guided his leadership.

Affordable Entry for Thousands of Visitors

With a Rs 50 ticket made available for a full two-month period, Shivsrushti is expected to see a sharp rise in daily visitors. Summer vacation is typically a time when families and school students look for educational outings. This initiative is perfectly timed to meet that demand.

The tickets can be booked only through the official website, and given the likely surge in interest, early booking is advised. This ensures orderly entry and a pleasant visit for everyone.

Abhay Bhutada’s Broader Approach to Philanthropy

Abhay Bhutada has long believed in driving social impact through practical steps that improve community engagement. The Abhay Bhutada Foundation has supported numerous causes involving education, skill development, and cultural preservation. By supporting Shivsrushti’s outreach efforts, the foundation is continuing its goal of connecting citizens to their history and roots in a meaningful way.

The emphasis is always on inclusivity. This project reflects the idea that cultural spaces must be for everyone, not just a select few. The donation is helping bring this principle to life by turning Shivsrushti into a widely accessible educational zone.

Encouraging a Stronger Bond with History

This initiative is a good example of how private efforts can support public experiences. Rather than building something new, the Abhay Bhutada Foundation is improving access to what already exists and making it easier for people to experience it. The idea is not just to provide financial help but to create a deeper emotional connection with India’s heritage.

The story of Shivaji Maharaj is full of lessons in leadership, strategy, courage, and community service. Shivsrushti serves as a platform to pass on those stories to future generations. Through exhibits, performances, and guided walks, the park is making history come alive for the public.

Conclusion

Thanks to the Abhay Bhutada Foundation, the next two months at Shivsrushti will be more than just a trip to a theme park. It will be a journey through time, values, and vision. At just Rs 50 per ticket, this opportunity allows thousands to walk through the story of a leader who left a mark on history. It also shows how cultural education can thrive when public and philanthropic efforts come together for the common good.
